Geoff, have you contacted velomobile.nl? Ginko steel idlers are about 40euro IIRC not light but very strong! they are a tad noisy though, but not like the thrashing machine you seem to have under your seat at the moment!

Do you mean threshing machine Ian or is there a device I've not heard about??
 I take your point though. Especially annoying as it's constantly rotating. It's on the return side of the chain so shouldn't be under much load.

nope I meant thrashing, threshing sounds too gentile, and not at all like a torture machine that it currently sounds like!
