I found some pictures from 1995 here: http://www.jenne.vamosaver.de/LelystadWM1995/

Some interesting machines like a yellow beano with bomb doors, and sandro's bike before he stacked it at tilberg.
Current fleet: Milan SL MK2 #027, Fujin SL II, Beany!

Bit hard to tell which image you are referring to. The blue streamliner at the back of the grid in the firsts picture is Oscar. There is a pic of 2 Kingsbury machines. I think one is the original Beano and the other is Cyclops. The former probably had a K drive. The latter used Miles' unique cylcloidal drive. There is another yellow bike I don't immediately recognise. Could be an early Magic Scooter.

I don't think all of these were at Lelytsadt. There wasn't a velodrome. There is a pic of Steve Donaldson in the pink/thistle faired Wasp. Could have been Munich or Denmark. The bike I guessed was a Magic Scooter has it written all over it.

Is Sandro's bike the white, faired Lightning, which turned up to Bentwaters and was going very well, despite the fact that it looks like it might be a handfull in cross-winds? I would check, but the WC2008 site seems to have evapourated.

<Googles> Ah, seems that is the case, and here's a pic of the incident Lee refers to - hope he was okay...

Yep that's Sandro's bike. I remember a nice bit of argy bargy with either Lee or Slash coming round the final bend into finishing straight in the crit. Quite an antique but still very fast. Shame he crashed it the following year. It handled better than my bike at Bentwaters I had both wheels off the ground down the runway in the side winds in the 200m.

Yeh, the science of sidewind stability needs further research I think - doesn't always follow common-sense.
