A bit of Googling suggests a couple of possible motorsport tracks that also get used for cycling:
Ingliston (I think was a venue for the British Championships Geoff mentioned): http://www.royalhighlandcentre.co.uk/about-us/motoring-and-track-events-at-the-rhc.html?Itemid=0
East Fortune: http://www.melvillemc.co.uk/road-racing/maps/
I haven't turned up any dedicated cycling circuits, though that doesn't mean they're not out there.

Yes The Royal Highland Center was mentioned to me. As well as the racing circuit they have alot of roads within the center which could possibly be used as a circuit. I will contact them and see if it would be a possibility.
I dont know of any dedicated cycling circuits in Scotland, any circuit races tend to be town center or parks of which there are a few large ones in Glasgow. There is also Glasgow green which is shut off for cycle races but the surface is a bit rough or at least it was the last time i rode it.

Hi,
I would vote for the central belt as well. Ingliston is still used I think for Scottish Cycling events. I dont know the circuits etc in Glasgow. It would be great to have local events; only a two hour drive. |

Looking at Ingliston and the events held there i am thinking it is going to cost alot. I have found the Kames racing circuit which can be hired by the day, it is 800 meters long and looks to have good facilities and is off the M74 so handy for those coming up from the south.

We raced in Maryhill Park in, I think, 1995. Prime "Taggart" country. Someone was putting out the tapes to keep people of the circuit when the the parkie showed up. "Nae-one told me there's been another murrrrrrder" he said. Some wanted to go home there and then

Kames circuit have got back to me and are very interesting in the use of their circuit for a race day, who within the club can i contact regarding some more details about what is required for the day, number of riders, safety considerations that kind of thing ? They have a committee meeting next monday and would like to bring the idea up at that. Mike |

David at laid back bikes in Edinburgh was keen to have a race up there, but most of the Scottish continent seem of the Audax persuasion.
I'd fancy a race around Arthur's mount/seat, whatever that big lump in Edinburgh is called , but the descent might be a bit quick for the streamliners. I think the park manager there isn't adverse to closing some of the roads. There's a nice new velodrome named after some gold medal winner our other, but doubt we'd get in before the commonwealth games... |
