Here we go then folks - The 2019 race season kicks off a little earlier than usual because that's the only way we can get to race at Curborough... It's full of nasty, smelly motor cars the rest of the year (apart from an oasis of pedal car racing in October...)

Anyway, we'll have registration open by 10 and aim to get the first race away at 11-ish...

There willl be plenty of time before, between and after racing for testing those machines following the long winter of fettling.

We are expecting some of the pedal car racing teams to join us and Dave Ralphs will hopefully be taking the opportunity to test the pedal car timing system, so a few volunteers willing to hang an additional tag from their machine would be welcome...

The field will be split into two as always and everybody will get two races...

Race 1 - Slow - 20 Mins + 1 Lap Anti-Clockwise on the short circuit.
Race 2 - Fast - 20 Mins + 1 Lap Anti-Clockwise on the short circuit.

Break for lunch...

Race 3 - Slow - 40 Mins + 1 Lap Clockwise on the full circuit.
Race 4 - Fast - 40 Mins + 1 Lap Clockwise on the full circuit.

I believe we still need a First Aider for this one, and as always any offers of help will be appreciated...

Can somebody please advise whether we have use of the generator and whether there is camping available on the Saturday night?

Hi Jeff, it still needs an ID, it should look something like this (for an individual photo) and something similar for an album

I'm sure they are worth the wait! :)

In race 1 fast, my GPS is telling me I did 20 laps in 22:34 (as a comparison, for race 2 fast, my GPS recorded 21 laps in 44:43 so I am a couple of seconds off the official timing) but it really does not change the classification at all.

David's probably right for the 1st faster race: 20 laps in whatever time we got from the stopwatch. His tags weren't working well in the first race (replaced for the second) so his last lap was missed.

In other news the http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events19/01curborough/index.html" rel="nofollow - e-timing results have been revised: now featuring Neil Hood and a correct layout for the short course (thanks Barney!).

Big respect to you chaps staying on the track in those conditions.

Those orange stripes down the Vulcan Geoff are they indicators? Would be amazing if they were.

Nice photos. Makes up a bit for not being there. I especially liked that closeup one of Geoff Bird that makes him look like a knight in futuristic armour.

The really impressive thing about that photo is that it's the best at capturing how wet it was, in spite of him being one of the driest riders.
