Seen the video a few times as it just down the coast from where Family and I go on holiday.. never noticed the cyclist... Bloody Hell !!! how's he still riding after the last hit???

It's amazing how you can keep your balance on a bike when influenced by extraneous forces. Have you seen the video of the Dutch Pro team in a gale? A guy stops and the wind is so strong that it blows his bike from under him every time he tries to remount. But once he gets going, he's fine.

Rather than trying to describe it, I should really try to find a link to the video...

I've had that round here (the deepest darkest Fens), on a 12 mile long, arrow straight road canting along like a sailing boat on a tack
 
The guy trying to get on the bike was funny, but of course he should have been doing it from the other side, or pointed the bike into the wind
