Without actually Googling for the documented records, yes, that may be correct.  Queally went to Battle Mountain with a beautiful but enormous machine sposored by Blueyonder not long after his Sydney 2000 gold.  I'm sure he did set a record of that kind of speed.

Rob English went with the Kingsbury Mango a few years after that and I'm sure he'll have got that going faster (he crashed it at a speed reputedly quite a bit faster) but may not have got a fast enough, complete and wind-legal run to break the record.

Mr Larrington or Mr Woolrich - who kno infinitely more about the Armpit of America than I do - will no doubt be along soon to correct me.

Having Googled, IHPVA (splitters...) http://www.ihpva.org/hpvarec3.htm" rel="nofollow - say  Rob english made an official run at 67.37 on 2nd October 2002 and Jason Queally did 64.34 on 6th.

Saw a squabble breaking out on the BROL forum earlier in the week, Yanks v's Brits

http://www.bentrideronline.com/messageboard/showthread.php?p=987388&highlight=obree&page=16

Hope he puts a good show on, getting slated for trying something new.... too many armchair critics.

BROL is full of self centred yanks who don't like any brit doing anything and that includes posting in "their" forum as I once told to stop doing by PM - I've stopped looking at BROL!

I do hope Obree stuffs them though!

Looks like I will be helping out with 'The Beasties' at Battle Mountain. The fastest UK rider is Rob English at 67.37 mph. There is very little chance Graeme will beat Sam's record, but they are making a reasonable start and have a chance of beating Rob. What is BROL? As there a little anti American sentiment on this forum?
