We need a volunteer to collect the keys and open up the track on Sunday, ideally someone who can be there quite early (9:30ish?). The keys are at GOALS reception near the entrance. Opening the gate is quite simple but the procedure for opening the clubhouse is more intricate and involves code numbers. I shall send the instructions by PM or email to whoever needs them.

The forecast for Sunday is currently dry but only 7deg in the morning so take lots of newspaper. If you don't use it to pack your jersey against the cold you can always sit in the nice warm clubhouse and read it.

Thanks Andy
Well volunteered Barry
I hope to be there sometime between 9-30 and 10 ....this depends on transport arrangements ....teenagers getting up.....traffic and various other factors.
As this is the first race Fiona is hoping to get there earlier too, as there will be membership stuff to sort.
I do not intend to use any timing system....I will not be bringing the clubs.
Good news!.....the stopwatches arrived yesterday.......so you will all be 'the timing system'
As much as I have enjoyed the 30min both direction races of last year, I do not think this works at Hayes, so another format will be applied (to follow this note). Objections to be written on £10 notes (in pencil) and handed directly to me on the day

After (not) a great deal of pondering the race format will be as follows:
Around 11am we will start the single lap sprints.
(This gives a chance for late sign-on/joining stuff to continue if necessary)
This will be followed by two 45 minute races (one for fast bods and one for not so fast bods).
I'd like to have finished the day with a fun Madison, but in reality it is unlikely to be managed, as tired legs and people leaving would probably disrupt any pairing (if time had allowed this to be sorted :O)
See you all on Sunday! .....Twed

I'll be there - though not 'til about 11:30, so I can't help open up or with the first race, but can help out after that. Forecast is looking good - dry, a bit of sunshine and not much wind!

See you all there :-)

Double booked myself and am leading a ride for the CTC....Gutted!...Have a great race everyone! See you later in the season, I did consider changing it and leading them to Hillingdon...but suspect this may be a abit of a stretch for the Aylesbury easy paced ride!Wink

A great day's racing ,thanks to the organisers

now, for the unfortunate query,
In the 45 minute slow race ,on the results it's showing that John Lucian finishing 5.7 seconds behind me ,infact I already had lapped him and I know I done 18 laps

here are my garmin result

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/294701402

I know it's hard to run a race day and I do respect the people that do  ,but last season I was given some wrong results .I know I'll never be up at the sharp end of the results but for me every second counts,

Again thanks to all and sorry about the query

Regards
Fraser

Fraser - firstly don't apologize for pointing out a mistake - Mistakes are made (we are only doing this off stopwatxh results - From the evidence it does look like you did 18 laps in the time.
As such - it looks like your results should be 18 laps in the same time. I've updated the results to show this.

Anyone else has any comments then please let me know

As a general point, if anyone wants to be sure of their result then you could always ask the person to hang on to the stopwatch until you've got your breath back. By reviewing the lap times you can easily see if a lap has been missed. The organisers have no way off checking the number of laps once the stopwatch has been zeroed

Many thanks to Kevin for putting up the results. One correction I can see, that was meant to be done on the day - Sam was riding a streamliner, not the Velodynamics Mk1.

Ok, BIG THANKS from me to all who helped yesterday ...whether stopwatching, flagging, bell ringing or marshalling ....it all takes stress off the organiser (especially if he/she wants to also race). Special thanks to Anne, Fiona & Geoff for sorting sign-on, monies and race order .....and of course Andy & Baz for openings, closings and general aid. Thanks Kevin for coming to my aid over my inept use of the race software and sorting the results last night.
The day went much better than I expected ....and it was good weather to boot! I was determined to race (as were my merry helpers), so I was expecting a good degree of chaos .....but we seemed to manage ....especially as it was the first race.... with memberships, stopwatches and newbies etc. to sort.
I'm a happy but tired bod

Many thanks Derrick and his many merry helpers for making the traditionally fraught first race such a success. Also to Wizard of the Results Kevin for some sprightly wizardry afterwards.

My nomination for Man of the Match goes to Bazz Brown on his new machine - less then 2 secs down on Mr Burrows in the TT and beating John Williams' velomobile in the main race. All that and he even turns up early to open up and stays late to lock down. May the Evil Fairy of the Puncture never darken your wheels (but stay forever locked in the dark corners of Burrows's boot).

Kevin,

I can confirm that Fraser had lap me and he has done 18 laps. You said you have made the change, but it does not show on the Hillingdon results. I owe it to him as he dragged me for few laps.

Also something else seems odd: in the overall standings Andy Trisconi-Smith on the Quattro should be lower than me and Fraser, but he is above us. In the Faired Multitrack he is correctly below me.

The overall standings will include the one lap TT John. I don't know the weighting that was applied but Andy went considerably quicker than you in the TT.

Thank you very kindly for your comments, much appreciated! but I think I owe my main race time to Keith Davis, without him I would have had probably given up the push after a few laps, I was determined to keep him in my sights since he was just not close enough to grab a tow off, That man is a pedaling machine!!! Wink

As for the one lap TT, I will take all the credit for that one, and would like to thank my legs, heart and lungs for not giving up on me Big smile

also thanks to Jeff and Jonathan for sharing their fantastic pictures, Yay for summer Star

Take care,
Barry ;-)

General rule is that it becomes available if you miss a full season... so you would need to turn up to any race this year or round 1 next year... But I'm sure we could do something if you want to hang on to it a bit longer... Wink

Apologies - changed machines and lost the update - now corrected.

As for the Quattro results - Geoff is correct - 10% of the points were for the 1 lap race (90% for main race) So Race 1 gives Quattro 10% of 590 = 59, you 10% of 109 = 11, and race 2 Quattro 90% of 42 = 38 and yours 90% of 89 = 81

So Quattro has total of 97, you have 92 - so result is correct (NB difference is in rounding as I have only taken Integers here to show the calculation)

A general observation about the results and using the sign-on program at the events, so learning points
1. Set up the race day beforehand with the races and rounds that you want
2. Use the sign-on program when you sign people in, rather than retrospectively.  It is surprisingly easy to do at the time and makes the data more accurate.
Smile

Always room to improve

Glad it went well!! Some really good pictures from Neil, Jon and Jeff...

This is going to sound incredibly rude if I'm wrong... It looks like there may be a lady rider missing from the Ladies section of the results... Ewa Zielinska on a Trice??

Just putting two and two together from the pictures so I may well be making 5 here...
