anyone ever built a turbo trainer from scratch,my other half has a problem with her instep and physio say too cycle but she cant ride a bike,and i cant aford a new turbo

I got mine off ebay for £10. Works well.
You just have to be patient and watch like a hawk to grab a bargain.

Lucky didn't enter into it. It was a lot of work and I had to go and pick it up. Keep your eyes on the market, be prepared to have a model that isn't as flash (but works) and you can pick up a bargain.

looks good,i did bit on just a fan unit but missed it by£2,the other option is build her a trike but that would cut into my tilting lowracer trike building.
