In the course of correspondence with the very nice people at Fowlmead and thinking that some BHPC types are likely to want to camp that weekend, I enquired whether there were any handy camp sites.  They suggested: http://www.fisheries.co.uk/cottington/index.htm

I just called the site as their web site only mentioned caravan pitches.
They are fine with tents and (unusually) are also fine with us taking vans on to site... Thumbs Up

Their main activity is day-ticket coarse fishing and we would not be allowed to walk around the lakes (unless we want to go fishing as well!)

Pitches are £10 per night which sounds very reasonable to me...

The lady said that toilet and shower facilities are a little "restricted" whatever that means...
She is going to send me some more info...
They would be happy to negotiate a block booking if required...

Shower facilities at the Fowlmead circuit are fine, though...

Are we allowed to bring our own fish, on wheels!

I'm planning to come to Fowlmead for the first time this year. As I don't 'do camping', can anyone recommend local accommodation, preferably somewhere with a liquor licence....

Thanks,

Alan

The Coulsons (York variety) stayed at the http://www.kingsheaddeal.co.uk/ - Kings Head in Deal last time.  Good enough for them to be going back, and several more of us too.
