Don't worry.

The car will be stripped and rebuilt before it's next outing anyway.

Tyres are a minor issue.

Which is near side?

Racing is life...
Anything which happens before or afterwards is just standing around waiting to race....

Left.

It's logical because in a motor car it's the side furthest from the driver.

Hence "near" side.
