It is down at the moment, probably because they haven't sent me a map despite being asked some time ago....

If you look here ( http://uk2.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?client=public&X=49 7500&Y=373500&scale=10000&width=700&height=4 00&gride=497600&gridn=373404&lang=&db=pc& ;coordsys=gb)  you can easily pick out the leisure centre's running track.

At http://www.lincoln.gov.uk/Information_page_+_3_pic_det.asp?i d=3382 the cycle track is described thus: "The cycle track is a complete circuit of 1500 metres. The circuit comprises of two loops, the smaller equates to 833 metres".  From which I'm guessing that the cycle track is what you can see running around the perimeter of the site inna Preston Arena stylee.

When you say 'what you can see running around the perimiter of the site', Um, I can't see anything on this link that looks like a plan.

It sounds quite interesting. Maybe we could do a 'fun race' round the tighter circuit? I'm pleased to be offered the chance to see 'The Old Debtors Prison', but Lincoln used to have a pretty good cycle museum. I wonder if it's still there.

Ooops - well at least it's not another international incedent this time. I realised which was the right link. I guess the track is roughly 2 halves. The North part looks like the tight circuit. Not sure if just that part can be ridden. Obviously there is no profile. Lincolnshire tends to be a bit like Norfolk - 'very flat'. However, the city itself has a some steep little hills. I was just thinking how good it would be to do the city crit circuit, but I think it's pave infested.

Yes, the middle of Lincoln is full of cobbles and restricted zones, there is the famous "steep hill" which has a section about 1:3 which is cobbled but it is now pedestrian only.
