My mum and dad might want to do Linclon on a tandem for a bit of fun, would they have to pay £10 (ok) or £20 (too much).

Also would chainring gaurds be needed on a wedgie?

Not something that comes up very often, in fact I can't remember the last time it did, but since they will be a single racing entity I would think that it would be a £10 entry fee.
Since the chainrings on an upright are fairly well protected by the wheels I don't think they will be necessary in this case.
