Right, here's the plan for Sunday:

Venue                           Lead Organisator                 Assistant               First Aider

Hillingdon                    Keith Davis                            Heather F              Stuart Glen

Thank you to Heather and Stuart for stepping up to help - I trust you'll all give them an easy time!

The Club's electronic timing system will not be with us on Sunday, so the lap counting will need to be done manually. So if at all possible, can you come along with a family member or friend to count your laps. Pens, paper and nice spectator-friendly weather will be provided. It is also important that your HPV is clearly numbered. If you have not raced before, we will issue you with number stickers to attach to your vehicle.

Don't forget to bring a helmet and chain ring guard. If you've got elbow pads, bring them too (if not, I'm sure you'll be able to borrow a pair for your races). If you've not raced before, a quick read of this page is very useful. There's no need to memorise it - there'll be plenty of people there to help out.

Taking account of the lack of timing system, it being the first race of the season, and the World Championships not being far off, the organisers have put together this program:

09.00 track open for try outs and practice

09:15 sign-on opens

11.30 race 1 - 20 minutes +1 for slower riders clockwise

12.15 race 2 - 20 minutes +1 for faster riders clockwise

13.00 opportunity for World Championship team to promote their event

13.30 race 3 - 60 minutes +1 for slower riders anti-clockwise

15.00 race 4 - 60 minutes +1 for faster riders anti-clockwise

16.20 - home time

(The points will be split 1:3)

Everyone can enter a 20 min race and a 60 min race. As ever, the allocation of riders to races is at the discretion of the organisers. Riders who have not raced themselves or their newly modified machines before will benefit from the shorter race with a bit of time to fettle or feed before the longer race. Those aiming for the Worlds can use the longer race as part of their preparation (the equivalent race at the Worlds is two hours on a track of virtually the same length)

It's a full day, so it is important that we are all ready on time. There are no penalties for being late to start a race - you'll just end up covering a shorter distance in the same time.

To help the sign-on run smoothly, can any lapsed members renew their membership here and everyone wanting to benefit from a season pass (10 races for the price of just over 6*) do so here now! If there is a queue, members will get priority Smile

If everyone is fine with this, I'll post it on the public area of the forum.

Nice one Keith! Wish I could be in two places at once...

Just to note that processing of shop orders after tonight will depend on whether I have access to internet/email... If not I won't be able to do anything with them until Monday.

All shop orders curently come to me and I manually forward them to whoever looks after that particular item.
If you would like to add yourself to the shop email distribution list so that you can see any new orders for membership and annual race fees that would be fine with me...

I got it second hand from a Basque separatist.

He must have been in their submarine branch.
