I don't see any way of replying to a poster directory, so have started a new thread instead.

Anyway, I have information on two different 305 size tyres which Alan Goodman might be interested in.

First, there is a Vredestein San Marino fitted to the front of Judy's Oke-Ja. That's outlived many tyres on the rear (due to being very lightly loaded) and is now a slick. Not too bad, maybe a bit fat, but a fairly practical tyre.

Secondly I've also got some Kenda tyres of that size with a small amount of tread on them (not knobbles). Again, they're fairly chubby but seem to roll reasonably well. These outlasted the kid's 16" wheel bikes so are sitting around as spares.

It's possible that the Vredestein could be an improvement on the chopper tyre. Presumably you're not expecting anything very narrow in this size.

David.

I am reliably informed that Primo Comets exist in this size, but I have yet to find any on this side of the pond.

Thanks very much for that...

I actually ordered two Schwalbe Marathon 305 tyres last week for the front of the girl's bikes from BikeTrax in Edinburgh.

Unfortunately they didn't turn up in time for Eastway but I'm hoping they will be with us in plenty of time for Hillingdon.

Whether Casey's bike is sporting it's Fluro orange paint by then is a bit more doubtful though. I think that will have to wait for Darley Moore...

When I take it to bits to paint it I'll need to make sure Dave (who built both the girl's bikes) is around so that all the bits go back in the right place...

(No, I have no vested interest. Not my shop!)

Supply 305 Schwalbe marathons.

I'm using 305 comets on my KMX, see pictures here

KMX

They seem fairly fast and are wearing well. They say 1.35 on them but I have measured them to be about 1.2" wide (30mm)

I got them form Hostel Shoppe and cost £45 inc postage for two and 4 tubes to suit.  I did have a little problem last weekend when I rode over a bit of flint and cut one of them, I repaired the cut with superglue but might need to buy some more tyres.

If I was to order more, would anyone want any at the same time to share cost of postage?
