Not sure where best to put this but as some of you already know, a 3 week tour is being planned around Europe. 11 british riders are signed up to date. However the organizing group are having some trouble, mainly due to insurance issues and needing a bank account for funds and the event is now in doubt as to wheather it will actually happen. I was wondering if the BHPC would be willing to help out? Would our insurance cover such a tour? Could our bank be used to accept deposits from riders? Could we charge a fee on top of the expenses inccured by the tour to cover the time needed? I belive graydog has signed up for the tour which may help.
At the moment the tour does not visit Britain however if it would help it maybe possible to add a small detour and spend say 2 days in britain riding from hull to harwich or the reverse which is a nice, flat velomobile friendly ride. Of course if it's too much to ask/would be too time consuming, just say so. May thanks, lee. Edited by LeeW - 08 December 2012 at 10:48pm |

Our current insurance policy wouldn't cover this event I'm afraid...
![]() Riding outside the UK and on public roads are not things we would normally need cover for. One other thought... What about the CTC? Would their insurance cover you if all riders taking part were members? Surely one of the organisers could just open a bank account for the purpose of taking deposits? How many of the riders taking part are BHPC members? Edited by AlanGoodman - 08 December 2012 at 10:59pm |

I'm struggling to see how we can help with this one... We can't provide insurance cover I'm afraid...
Graham is the best person to respond regarding the bank account but do you have any idea why the organisers can't just use their own bank account or open a new account for this? |
