Taken from BROL ;

2005 RACE ACROSS AMERICA COVERAGE

I've been trying to figure out a way to cover the 2005 Race Across America since there will be two recumbent teams competing against each other for the first time in many years.  Following the race by myself or with a team of reporters was just not possible due to cost or sleep restraints.  Thankfully I have found a solution.  I will be joining the crew of Team ALS/Bacchetta and covering it as a sort of "embedded reporter".  Since there isn't any room in the vans to schlep a freeloading reporter from one side of the country to the other, I will also be pulling my own weight by turning wrenches for the team.  I'm very excited about this opportunity and would like to thank Jim Kern for giving me the chance to bring the RAAM experience to all of you.

It will be interesting to see what the difference in time the team do against the uprights.

Rich.

While Rich may be covering RAAM from the ALS/Bachetta camp, I will be RACING as part of the JDRF/Velokraft team.

With 2 'bent teams racing this year it should make for a good race. If there is anyone out there who could help then please get in touch.

See you all in Newport

Neil F
