Oi thread hijackers...
Just took the MBB to Tameside (1km, tight & twisty track) for an hour ride. This was the first time clipped in, and tbh it was bloody scary. It feels fast but unstable. It's the first time I've ridden clipped in, and I thought it would smooth out the slight wobbles I had riding flat pedals, but it didn't. It made it feel far more 'top heavy' wobbly, and the ability to put more power through the pedals resulted in bigger, scarier swerves at higher speeds. My fastest lap on the Nocom was 1:25 after a good few sessions clipped in. My fastest tonight was 1:33, although I wasn't pedalling through some of the corners. I'm sure I can go faster, but I'm not sure I want to! On a positive note, I think it was holding onto speed much better on the straights, even if I wasn't going in an entirely straight line... Bah! I keep hearing rumours about someone having a rear fairing for the Nocom hidden in a shed somewhere, I may to to investigate that instead...

Russell,
the tail fairing was sold by me to Paul. It is BIG. It is also not exactly convenient as the chain runs into/out of the fairing and it is a very near fit on the rear wheel. So to change the tyre you would have to seperate the chain and remove the fairing. It is very nice, if you can live with the inconvenience. Paul was trying to sell it some time ago: http://www.british-human-power.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3525 |

as far as I understand Pc got shot of all his bent stuff.
he had two the bought and one we made. as for the Honda box, they work well. I used something similar giving a massive gear range, till last year in my Quattro with two 11-36 blocks. but very bespoke and when it fails n the field a pain to replace parts. the main prob was the added weight. each block on cheapo are 500grams. and expensive reduced to 360 per. |
