Hello everyone,

I've just moved to the UK from Germany and this has coincided with giving up cycling (too hilly here).

I am planning to sell my Milan GT Carbon which has a professionally-fitted motor and battery (by Akkurad in Germany).

I've had the Milan since September 2016, previously it was owned and raced by Ludwig de Groot. It was a special extra-stiffened carbon body which had lightweight wheels. In my ownership I have upgraded the wheels to more robust ones (I ate more pies than Ludwig) and I eventually had the motor fitted. I pretty much only used the motor on the lowest setting to help me pull away from traffic lights or go over motorway bridges and the one time I did a long ride I got 300km from the one battery.

There are everlasting photographs of the Milan on my blog www.auntiehelen.co.uk but more specifically:

When I originally bought the Milan.

This page shows everything about the motor. Please note I am 5 foot 9 (176cm) with size 42 shoes and this works without any problem with regard to the width of the Velomobile. If you have much larger feet you might have to position the seat further back (which involves drilling holes in the carbon for the seat holder thingie).

The velomobile is currently in Bury St Edmunds near Cambridge. I am very happy for people to come and have a look/test ride.

It is now 11+ years old and certainly does not look new. It has some vinyl foil in various places. There is also a hood available which I very rarely used.

I'm not at all sure of the value but I would probably be expecting around £6,000 for Millie the Milan.

Please note my husband will also probably be selling his Quattrovelo but we haven't organised that yet.

It's a shame you're giving up!

Suffolk isn't that hilly and a motor would certainly help 😉  I'm about 20 miles away from bury, near Needham market. Have cycled over to Rougham a few times in my DFXL.

If you change your minds give us a shout 🙂

I used to cycle all around north Essex and Suffolk in my trike, but I’ve lost my nerve since 11 years in Germany with its decent straight roads. I’ve also had my back go ping several times when getting out of the Milan - my hips are wide and I have to twist on my way out and it’s not ideal. I ended up stuck in the bike for 10 minutes last time, so it’s also put me off.

We had such fun velomobiling but that time is now past. We are keeping the trikes for the moment.

Hi Kelly,

It’s blue and cream with the roof with visor.

It’s got some scrapes down one side and an area of missing paint on the other (where a drunken cyclist collided with him) but otherwise is in good condition. It had all the extra strengthening around the framework for the gears. It doesn’t have the rear disc brakes.

I will sort out a few photos later today.

In discussion with Klaus he says he thinks £6,500 is a fair price for Emily the Quattrovelo.

Here are a few photos:

I Have no idea why the photos aren't working as I doing exactly the same thing as I did for my original post that had photos. I've put them on the Facebook page as that seems to be working for me at least - and there are hundreds in my blog (search Emily), www.auntiehelen.co.uk
