Does anyone know when the racing starts at Preston. (Is it likely to be a punctual 11am??). The only realistic train arrives Preston 10.38, then I'll ride over, thus probably getting to the track for about 10.58...

I'm hoping to go in the fast race, has the order of slow/fast race been determined?

Thanks

On behalf of the Organisators (Jon & Anne Coulson, Claire King and myself) of this weekend's racing, here is what we are planning.

There will be one championship points event on each day, but we will be running a fun "Grand Classification" covering the whole weekend, as an incentive for peoples to take part in the fun races. For the GC there will be just one class, and it will be scored as the sum of your placings in the different events, lowest score being winner. So Mr Chattington's score will be 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4.  Non-participation gets you the score of the slowest rider, plus one.

Preston, Saturday.

11.00 - Signing on closes. If you're late and still want to race, be prepared to have the sobbiest of sob stories to hand (OK, train times might be accepted), and a note from all three of your grandparents.  If you're also planning to race on Sunday, you'll be invited to save both you and us hassle by signing-on and paying-up for both days.

11:20 - Race 1 (Slow). 1 hour plus 1 lap

12:45 - Race 2 (Fast). 1 hour plus 1 lap

14:30 - Fun/GC time-trial 2 laps. Slowest riders first

Lancaster, Sunday.

11.00 - Signing on closes. If you're late, etc.

11:20 - Race 1 (Fats). 40 minutes plus 2 laps

12:20 - Race 2 (Medium). 40 minutes plus 2 laps

13:20 - Race 3 (Slow). 40 minutes plus 2 laps

14:50 - Fun/GC devil-takes-the-hindmost

Race 1, Lancaster. Look I know I'm not as slim as I might be but...

"All three grandparents"? That should make for some interesting genetics. Presumably one could sign the note with either of one's left hands...

Is a class based on rider weight new since the AGM?

Perhaps my subtle abuse was just too subtle: anyone wanting to sign-on late will be presumed to be an inbred moron.
