I was browsing my Human Powered Vehicles CD 1997 in more detail and came across this photo from the 1996 Euro Championships. (Now known as the World Championships since Mr B had a word with America)

I was suprised to find a photo in which I featured when I used to be 5' 8" but in the background that looks like NotSo. Can anyone confirm?

Roy

Leaper Low I think. Same shell. That's why Notso is so called - it's not so low!

The Leaper Low was a head-in machine.  I'm pretty sure that's Mike Weaver in the picture.

That makes sense Dave. Because I thought I remembered Nigel raced the Low and lost control (again) on the velodrome and crashed out of the race. I think I said to him he was making them very fast but he need give them more control as well and the next time he raced it was in NoSo.

Mike Weaver built two hardshell heads out machines if I remember correctly. The first was a bit rough and ready and the second better finished. Or maybe he just spruced up the first one?

All the best.

Thanks Geoff

I also have a photo of a bike laying on the ground and I think that must be the Low because the frame looks like NotSo. Has no top on. I assume now it must be Mike Weaver's. I think Nigel crashed early on and maybe went home after the short 1k time trial? So maybe it is Mike's. The race number on it is 21. Or not, I think there is another bike laying on the gound alongside it looking more closley,
