After I assume being nudged be a car (I am presuming a wing mirror caught the handlebars - knocked out and remember nothing) I was wondering about having a camera (or cameras) on the bike - so if it happened again I might find out who did it.

So I know a few have cameras - ideally would like it to be interchangable - so I could use it on every type of bike - be nice to have a record of the journey and would need a reasonable battery life or cope with replaceable batteries.

So what are peoples experience with these things

Regards

Kevin

Glad you're feeling up to riding again anyway Kevin!!

I'm using a Panasonic XS100 - It's waterproof and the quality is pretty good (much better than the Youtube clips although the original files are huge)

The downside is that it only records about 30 minutes at a time so you have to stop and start it again after that!

Battery lasts for ages though...

Thanks Alan. Ideally would like something that records longer otherwise I might miss the incident. Haven't really ridden again yet but will do when there's a nice day. Shoulder is ok but limited movement. Having an operation next week that will hopefully improve that. Think that will be the first of a few operations on the road to recovery:)

Hi Kevin
I use a 808 key fob type camera sometimes, attached by velcro its a bit light and shakes a bit but it records i think for 2 hours and it can be had from ebay for a reasonable price, good look with the recovery.

Get well soon!!
The limit is actually file size (about 3.7GB I think)... So it would probably run longer with lower resolution, but I'm not sure if you would be able to read registration plates then.
I've got a 32GB card in it and I just flick it off and back on every now and then....

I've had good experiences with Go Pro http://gopro.com
They are expensive but have good battery life and can record for hours given the correct sizes memory card.
Waterproof and robust, I can testify to that having used them in my Downhill mountain biking escapades.

Hope you feel better soon

Thanks Karl. Will look at the Go Pro.  If only I had been on a Windcheetah at the time Wink. Though I must admit it was great for getting around when I couldn't drive and only had one hand (the lying back position helped as well!

Only two!!!

A man of your standing should have a quiver* of Windcheetah's, just busy beavering away on the next iteration.... I'm sure I could tempt you ;-)

*Collective noun for windcheetah's or laid back bikes anyone?
