   This is the place for discussion about the first even of the 2022 BHPC Championships race season

Race formats

20 min (+ 1 lap) anticlockwise (SLOW)
20 min (+ 1 lap) anticlockwise (FAST)

then

40 min (+ 1 lap) anticlockwise (SLOW)
40 min (+ 1 lap) anticlockwise (FAST)

we have the track booked for 4 hours  12-4pm, so please get there early so we can start promptly and finish on time whilst still squeezing in all the races.

You'll be able to pay race entry fees and register (via the shop) from Thurs 17th March

Online registration will close at 12:00 on Thursday 31 March (it will not be possible to register on the day)

	Hi, question from a newbie. The race info says race numbers are given during race sign on. I didn't notice anything going through the shop order, but I've already got 213 on my velo from Andy, the previous owner. Could that be used if not already allocated? See you in a couple of weeks. 	Hi Tim, People generally keep their same number as long as they race at least once a year so it will depend on whether Andy intends to race and if he wants to keep that number. If not then there shouldn’t be a problem with you having it - Kim usually sorts all the numbers once registration closes. Look forward to seeing you at Colchester! Alan

	tapity-tap flyinerin raced as 213 last year, so she's got dibs, I'm afraid. The shop doesn't ask new riders about their race number, on the assumption they haven't got one. Allocating new race numbers is one of those tasks that's vastly less time-consuming when done as a batch, rather than in dribs and drabs as registrations come in, so I'll be doing that after registrations close (which may be sooner than the deadline if all the places fill up - we're currently at 36/60). 218 is also taken, but I could give you 273 if that makes modifying the existing number easier?

	I like your thinking Kim! No worries I'll go with whatever comes out. I was just being lazy 😃 213 is the s/n of the velo and had some relevance to Andy. I think when he raced it he had 145 applied too. Having read the guidelines think the numbers need to be at the front so whichever way I need to get creative with the insulating tape 😉 Thanks, Tim.

	Due to an unfortunately timed house move I'm not going to be able to race Colchester but I am hoping to race with 213 for the remaining rounds.

	Entries are now closed (final count: 54 registrations). New riders (and existing riders who didn't know their race number) should have an email from me telling them what their race number is. See http://www.bhpc.org.uk/how-to-race-with-bhpc.aspx for how to display your race number. If you're an existing rider who requested new timing tags, you won't have had an email, but rest assured you've also been added to my tag-writing list along with all the newbies.
