I've posted a couple of times before about moves to construct a new race track in York. Well, it's open. With Geoff and Fiona, Jon and Anne and Claire I was lucky enough to have a go on it on Saturday. It's a really nice, smooth, wide track, with at least one of the corners being interesting whilst still, I reckon, being negotiable by even the more extreme of our race bikes. The chap running it seemed to be very amenable and there's a full range of facilities, since it's part of a major new sports centre.

We'll send contact details to Andrew.

Very similar to Shrewsbury.
I'll pass this on to the pedal car folks.

Yes, though a little more forgiving, being wider and with the radius on the hairpin being greater.  In common with Shrewsbury, it is lit, which might be a plus for some of the pedal car events.

Certainly looks worth giving a try for a BHPC event... If the York Cycle Show is back next year maybe double up that weekend??

I'd thought of coinciding with the Grand Départ of Le Tour which is in York in 2014, but the chances of getting it are probably slim.
