Looks like fun but some of those lamp-posts are going to need a bit of padding before the faster boys approach them...

Reminds me of Lincoln a bit...

Not that many - depends on which way you go.
With all those lamposts we could do a night event! now that would be very exciting fully faired!

Yup - I'll bet those houses are full of people whose idea of a great weekend is to spread broken glass across the track and drive quadbikes up and down it .

But then I don't know Bradford any better than Geoff:

Well, Brum is reputed to have more canals than Venice - perhaps Bradford has more snow-capped mountains than Val D'Isere. Maybe, um, they keep them in a box or something (unlike those show-off Frenchies)Ermm.

Oooh, you snob, Andrew!

Apparently there are in fact very few people living near by. Mostly industrial, with some nice houses the other side of the road. Much less pikey than Lincoln. And there wasn't any glass on the track.

IIRC Venice has only 3 canals

I believe the claim is actually that Birmingham has more miles of canals than Venice.

Brum also has more shopping trolleys, mopeds and stolen cars per mile of canal than pretty much anywhere else on the planet, too.

Multimap's aerial photo indicates rather a lot of domestic housing, which is something I vaguely recal from a few years back when I used to drive past the venue on a semi-regular basis.

But then the picture is itself older than some parts of the track, so these things do change.

Bu unlike Lincoln there are some big roads in the way. I was going on what Paul had told me, never having brightened up Bradford with my presence.

'stroo, canal fans.  The BCN now had about a hundred of the BRITONS' miles of canals, though in its heyday there were about 160.

And there's nowhere in Venice called Spon Lane Locks.
