I really enjoyed myself yesterday,
I was only out for the sheer fun of whizzing round without having cars trying to beat me to the next junction and despite insisting I didn't want timing, ended up with a result. cheers!
however I'm convinced a rode more than 1 lap...

I started to lose focus after 20 mins, started dawdling and only picked up again towards the end, nothing new there, I used to do the same on my mtb, need to train my brain for next season.
I'll try and get to more races next year, Howard needs some compo in the multi-track to get him to ride faster

CD full of pics winging it's way to John, nice one of Derrick Yeehaah(ing) the YeloDonkey around the switchback is here

Hello all,

I'll be a good sportsman.... would anyone like to scrutinise my result, 16 laps 45.05. Sounds a bit too good to be true, maybe 15 laps? I didn't lap Dave Goodman (in my race). I think this would then put David Hembrow and Mike Sleep ahead of me in the sports class rankings.

But I did cycle 111 miles from Cheltenham the day before the race:)

You didn't have anyone timing you, and it is difficult to put that in the system currently, therefore I had to enter something, hence you have 1 lap - apologies.

Paul C will correct your laps and remove 1 - thanks for being honest.

Will update when a few more comment.

Mea Culpa

Apologies for the error in lap counting for you Paul. I was holding the stopwatch left handed and as usual used my index finger to mark the lap times on the first lap - twit then made it worse buy rapidly pressing the other button and erasing what was on the clock. Having carefully noted the Time elapse on the first error I pressed the button twice next time so the laps would be right, then promptly forgot and added the time and an extra lap to record the results.....

BTW I still hurt quite a lot after overcooking it. I'm just astonished I managed to finish - its amazing what that amount of adrenalin will let you ignore!

So it wasn't just a cunning plan to push for the timing system

Just spotted the results - I was looking on the web site.  But I'm not there!  No. 48 - arrived too late for the first race, put in a very consistent performance in the second - in last place throughout!  A guy called Dave was timing me.  Did I not do something I should have?  I seem to remember it is the job of the timer to report the number and time after the race?

Andrew... I remember you well. My brother Dave was indeed standing next to me timing you and he definitely handed the result in at the end...

Very strange!!

When/if are the results going to get posted on the website rather than the forum. so they are easier to see and a lot more formal.
