Folks

The timetable for next weekend:

There will be 2 races. Sign on will start at 10:00 and FINISH AT 10:45. If you cannot make this sign on time, but intend to race, ring or text me so that you can be included 07709 933588. Please pull over or use your handsfree if you are driving, of course ... I know it's a pain, but if we are to have the right peeps on the grid at the right time, then this will have to be the way it is.

Race 1 : 11:00 - 11:40 - 40 mins + 1 lap

Race 2 : 12:00 - 12:40 - 40 mins + 1 lap

The order (fast or slow first) will be decided on the day according to weather - I think that we all appreciate that the surface at Eastway is not the best in the wet and damp, so I will try to get faster racers moving in the dryest conditions. However, please remember that this is Eastway, and elbow pads are a good idea. Even I wear them, now.

The AGM will start at 13:00, giving you at least 15 mins to put your bikes against the fence and grab your lunch, even if you're racing ... We will be finished no later than 3:30, with the yearly presentations to take place at the end. Please remember your trophies !

I would like a couple of volunteers to help, if anyone is feeling nice - someone to book in, and someone to help with start/finishes/results. Please reply to this, then I know who and don't panic later ....

If we have any new members who do not know who I am (or old ones who've forgotten, since I haven't got to as many events as I would like   ), then I shall be the guy in the beard with a bright orange fleece jacket (unless it's raining, in which case I will be inside the main clubhouse looking worried with everyone else). If anyone, particularly those new to the BHPC or the AGM, is unsure of what is going on, or who to speak to, where to go, anything, please seek me out and I'll do my best to help.

Hope that's it - have I missed anything ?

Rob, Happy to help with the booking in and sorting (as I stated earlier).  I suggest (from experience) we start at say 10:20 and book people directly into the computer rather than sheet then computer.  It works easier that way.  Someone to help with the money would be good.

I'll help - I have still not cleared the cold that stopped me coming down to Reading so no point in racing.

Signing on in the club room?

Kevin - many thanks. I agree, straight to the computer would be best. I'm hoping to be there nice and early, so we should be able to get a nice area signed and sorted.

gNick - thanks for the offer. Yes, in the club room (always dry, occaisonally warm ...). If you could look after the money with Kevin initially while I shepherd the cats, that would be great. Not sure I'll be racing, either - EB has only a limited number of pedal revolutions to go, and I still have to get to work on it ....

Anyone know (Pete ?) how much a VK2 framekit delivered to the uk is ? Not sure I can face bitter cold building in the garage all winter, and t'wife won't let me use carbon in the house for some reason

just thought I remind everyone not to try parking in the top car park next to the track at eastway, last year we got turfed out of the top car park on the terms that if someone fell off the ambulance would not  be able to turn around. It may be that the ambulance people are not there, in that case we are able to park your car/van up there

This may prevent there being a hassle on the day of everyone shuffleing round

Contact Kamil on +48 504 140 424.

Delivery for the NoCom would have been about 250 Euro. However, I thouroughly reccommend taking a long weekend and flying over to collect. It will be cheaper than shipping, you get a weekend away in a great city and you can get some funky Christmas presents. Cost: about £80 return with Easyjet, although there are others (wizzair, BA, etc.)

Neil

Thanks, but I fear my quest for a nice piece of Polish carbon has been sunk - spoke to Pete last night about other matters as well as prices of bike art, and family finances prohibit such expenditure at this time (i.e. she who holds the chequebook said no.)

However, Pete has very graciously lent me Wyre until I get my next one built - I won't be bikeless, which is .

Appropo of the AGM:  this is a message for our younger readers / cyclists/ people (delete as applicable)

while dad and probaly mum sit through a BORING AGM on Sunday at Eastway, weather permitting, I am hoping to run some fun races, or not races for the younger contingent.

So let me know what you want, and bring your bikes along (yes Sarah, even you!)  I'll try to makeit fun and if anyone else want to help out let me know too.

Excellent idea .

Casey said she'll be up for it as lng as she isn't too tired after her race... (Probably be far less tiring for her than the AGM!)

Won't you be needed with your treasurer's hat at the AGM though???
