Photos, which are rubbish due to a combination of:
a) Low light
2) RFID aerials strategically gaffer-taped to the rail
iii) No IR beam-break trigger due to me failing to bring some sort of retroreflector to sellotape to the glass on the infield
four) The back of Andrew's head

Results, which are themselves a bit rubbish due to:
1) Poor RFID performance due to one-sided operation
b) The rubbishness, and frequent absence, of video capture to fill in the gaps in the RFID data
iii) Nigel and Jochen looking surprisingly similar in heavily motion-blurred greyscale

No points, because what happens on the velodrome stays on the velodrome.

All good fun.  Hopefully we can do this again sometime soon, and I'll try to bring a better engine.  I was extremely impressed by the performance of the Nosto under indoor conditions.

Thanks for that, it was a fun morning out (or more accurately, in).

Thanks for sorting out the timings. Amazed at your recognition skills identifying riders from those photographs...

Dave Minter - I made an onboard video edit and posted on instagram and you feature a couple of times Wink

If you don't have access let me know and I'll find a way to share with you. Good racing with you again.

It's a bit easier when you have a few seconds of video; it's still a bicycle-shaped blur, but you have more opportunity to pick out a distinctive frame feature or item of clothing, or indeed recognise people by the way they move (or indeed speed).  On a really good day, you can read people's race numbers Smile

I couldn't do my usual trick of sorting out the finish photos first so I have a convenient reference for what everyone looks like, since the riders are mostly behind the aerial as they cross the line.  On the other hand, with such a small field, it was relatively straightforward to do process of elimination from the RIFD data:  "Here's a cluster of three riders, Dave's on the track bike, and Gerry's half a second behind him.  Jochen passed 6 seconds ago, so the lowracer-shaped blur in the middle must be Nigel"

I have a few photos of your good self that I would be happy to share before I start the cull on my phone.
I have put a lot on the 'walled garden' but have no idea how to share in the BHPC environment .... unless the administrators wish to enlighten me.
However, Dave, if you send me your email address I can forward them.
Twed is at ... dtweddle@hotmail.co.uk
Never believe an atom they make up everything.

In principle you can attach photos to forum posts with the little tree icon in the toolbar of the reply window. In practice it is clunky, non-intuitive and severely limited in file-size. For person-person transfer email is a much better option.
