How do I access the advert? The site won't let me in anymore? Says I am already a member but still not letting me in. I request a new password but it never turns up although the site is saying it has sent me a new one! I've checked I'm using the right email and user name. Not much else I can think to do. I used to be able to get in.
All the best.
Roy

That site has nothing to do with BHPC.
I’ve no idea who the admins are to be honest.

I've just checked, and YACF's password reset emails are working for me.  What's your username over there?  There's a RoyMacDonald last active 2020-07-17, 12:42:40

I'm not a YACF admin, just an active member.  I wouldn't be here today without that forum introducing me to the dark side...   Rogerzilla is the main admin, Charlotte sorts the money side out, and I'm not sure who's taken over with the unisex spaceadministry since Dez died (they tried to recruit me, but I pleaded a lack of Copious Free Time and a PHP allergy).

Annoyingly, they've had to make the site members-only due to incessant crawling by AI bots overloading the server.

Yes that's me. I'm using the right username and password and the reset emails are not going into my spam folder. I've checked everything I can think of.
So I'm unable to get into the site anymore!
Just tried it again with no success. Don't know if it's because I only use Thunderbird. but it's not going into my BT folder either.
All the best.
Roy

Don't know what the problem is now.

SoreTween and perpetual dan are the post-Dez unisex space administrators.  Not that this helps…

Hi
I've not been able to get on to YACF since about the middle of last year either. Most peculiar. I used to browse there from time to time though was not a member, then I started getting blocked. I don't recall ever posting. Perhaps I was erroniously getting blocked as a spammer, or there'd been a software update.
I gave up on it after a few tries to register and log on.

I'd recently seen the link about the Bachetta elsewhere, so followed it as I was curious. Still blocked. I tried to register again but failed several times, nothing in my spam. Ho hum.

I've learned to live without YACF now.

As I said above, YACF has had to remove public access to the forum, because AI crawlers were accessing it at such a rate that it was overloading the database and causing an unacceptable slow-down for human users.

This is deeply suboptimal, as it also blocks casual readers and search engines.  But it does now work properly for logged-in users again.

I've no idea what's happening to your registration emails.  I know there have been transient problems with exim on the server in the past, but it seems to be sending mail fine at the moment.  Maybe they're falling foul of overly aggressive spam filtering, which is becoming a real menace for anything automated.
