Aussie George’s Alpha 7 is able to handle steeper climbs now that the 11-32t 11sp cassette has been replaced by an 11-42t cassette. The videos on the Velomobileworld website.are very helpful in this regard. Unfortunately I’ve not found any information regarding recommended torque for the BB clamps around the boom. There is a little creaking under full pressure, so I suspect the bolt torque might be a touch low but I worry about cracking the clamps.

Where can I find the recommended clamp bolt torque?

Typical. Shortly after asking the question, I find the answer. https://www.velomobileworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Alpha7_Manual_230418_EN.pdf lists the BB ‘slide’ bolts as to be tightened to 6Nm.

I always put a bit of carbon fibre assembly paste on the saddle mating surface, stops it sliding so the low torque of the bolts are more effective.

Watch out for creaking though, at worse it could be the boom coming loose from the nose area, it could also be bb bearings wear or cleats/pedals.

It looks like some of bolts were noticeably below 6Nm. We will see how it goes.
