And this is the rider list for the faster races:

Bib# Lastname Team
1 Steve Slade Beano
2 Lee Wakefield Snoek
10 Dan Bergonzi Speed Machine
13 Russell Bridge seventyseven
18 David L'Hostis Z High Racer
20 Neil Hood Grotty Trike
21 Nik Heathman Alpha7
36 Liam Goodman Notso
38 Colin Rose Optima Stinger
50 Geoff Bird Vulcan
66 Jochen Farwer M5 Lowracer
73 Andy Forey Kingcycle

169 Jemma Forey Black Panther Festina
211 Don Shackley QV+
213 Aeryn Parsons Raptobike low racer
216 Eng-Jon Ong Performer Xlow
240 David Griffiths ICE VTX

The faster group includes some people who are normally in the slower races. This is because of the number of handcycles taking part in this event. Normally we would split the field into three groups but that isn't possible this time because we need to finish early for the AGM and TROPHIES.

The faster and slower groups will be the same for both first (anticlockwise) and second (clockwise) races, except:
  • Barney Harle and Hank from GCN will move from slower to faster group
  • William Tulett will move from faster to slower group

General apologies on behalf of the committee for failing to send out an email with this sort of information in it.  I only realised it hadn't happened this afternoon, by which time Andrew S was in transit and unable to access the relevant email distribution list.

So yeah:  30mins each way, anticlockwise first.  Starting with the slower group at 11:00.

Please to be keeping the parking area inside the gates free for wheelchair users (of which we have many).

If you've got a trophy, please remember to bring it.

No spitting, wandering gormlessly on the track, or heavy petting.  Drafting is now permitted.

Anything else?

Only that we need to run pretty much to time (yes I know this is a bit odd) because we have the AGM and presenting of gongs to fit in.

For those that follow Global Cycling Network and don’t already know, Hank will be joining us to race and do some filming.
Last time he turned up the video was viewed 1.7million times on YouTube.
Should be fun.

No worries Kim. I only asked because of timing my food intake to avoid triggering my IBS. It's enough of a handicap with the SVT. (206 average heart rate in the first race and 196 in the second. If I'd done another race it would probably have gone away and I'd been able to develop full power instead of having to pootle around the track.) Lovely to ride on a flattish surface though instead of my viscously hilly local roads.

Slept like a log last night and able to eat anything without being bothered by IBS or my back during the night. Feel great this morning. Like being in my 50's again, apart from the lack of power of course. I accept that's never coming back and will decline as I age. Worked out I'll be over 80 by the time the club hosts the next Worlds. Be interesting to see what my power output will be by then.

Thanks to all the organisers and the guys who kindly lifted the After 7 on and off the roof rack for me.

Thanks again to everyone in the club for making it such a memorable day.Thumbs Up
All the best.

As a fellow IBS sufferer you have my sympathy.  Cycling with an uncooperative digestive system can be so frustrating - either being too stuck to the loo to get on the bike, or getting the bonk on a full stomach partway through a ride.
