The provisional race calendar for 2014, as announced at the AGM, is now available on the website Events page.

Some of the venues for events may change between now and the start of the season, although the dates are likely to be more-or-less fixed.

A larger version of the map, including postcodes of all the venues, is available here.

Just looking on youtube I saw that RAF Bentwaters closed in 2010; I always hoped we would go back there some day. Some great racing memories.

Good mix of tracks and avoided all of the pedal car races... Well done that man!! Clap

Just to add that we also have Curborough booked for the day after the pedal car race there (28th September).
This will NOT form part of the BHPC championship...

We will be running some fun races, possibly with some prizes... I know Barney has some ideas which will be revealed soon I'm sure... Any other suggestions will be more than welcome...

Some people may have been aware of plans for a BHPC race at the new Lee Valley Velopark, otherwise known variously as the Olympic Park and Eastway-that-was, to coincide with the Bespoked 2014 cycle show being held in the velodrome. Sadly the management at LVV have concluded that having a race event at the same time as the show is not going to be possible, possibly because the track will only have been open for two weeks at that point.

Even more sadly it looks as if Lee Valley is going to be out of our reach even when it is available as their hire charge is getting on for three times as much as the next most expensive circuit we go to. There is a possibility of sharing the circuit with another club, which would bring it down to around the cost of hiring Castle Combe for the day, but I remain to be convinced that the two represent similar value for money.

Apparently the track is about £300 for a 2 hour slot. Don't sound too bad, that's enough time for us to have two 40 min + 1 lap races plus a little bit of time for warmup and a cool down lap.

How about a team relay race? A bit like pedal car racing, but without pedalcars?

Sounds like fun to me - and no reason why the pedal cars can't join in as they are HPVs as well of course...
