Marc just looking at the registration etc and there are a few things that would make this process much easier for everyone not from France!

- a PayPal account for the club for payment - no bank charges just a small percentage, no bank troubles
- rates and an email for the camp site plus payment details - there is only a phone number?

- sorry but we will not setup a Paypal account (in France we generally consider it is not secure)
If really this is a big problem, send us a mail to check if we can find a solution.
- the camp site has no e-mail as far as I know, I will ask for a private one, as I understand it is easier for non french speaker...but the owner speaks English anyway. As for the rates, the special price for 2 persons + electricity is 12€, but the exact price depends on your specific needs --> hence you have to book yourself.

Thanks Marc that is a good start on the camping - I don't think people will mind booking separately but an email would still be very helpful for campers please.

RE payment, I've never heard of PayPal not being secure – the main reason for PayPal would be to get round the BACS charges that many people will pay, most likely us in the UK!

I don't know of any other online alternatives that I would trust. As far as I am aware PayPal is the biggest and most secure. You don't need to worry about integrating it into your website as people can simply send payments to your existing email.

PayPal is also much easier for you to track rather than searching through BACS payments ;)

Just use something like Transferwise with the IBAN much better exchange rates as well with a very small fee, takes a couple of minutes to set up.

Just in case anyone is interested, in a bid to see if there are any other options for accommodating and camping I've made a map with everything on one map. Locations not 100% accurate but gives an idea of the spread of the event.

Just a couple of things I noticed. Sorry have not read all 5 pages, so someone else may have mentioned these At least 2 brakes on 2 wheels required. I can put a rear brake on Notso, but may be a prob for some Ratties.
The sprint course is 1.2K,(looks 1.5 on the map) for 1K standing and 200m flying. Not sure how that is being done. both at once? I looked at the videos. Only 3/4 of the crit. Nothing too severe in terms of corners. Quite a bit of up and down. Difficult to tell how steep from the videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oE3YyZqlOU&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR2yqZAxLkNpSU7UqAJdSO3WyuiAngY0Ft3CZ6RN4sEppAED9nnFWloHUiw

Hello,

- "brakes on 2 wheels" requirement is mainly due to downhill sections of the 3h race. I reached ~80km/h with my unfaired bike! If you have specific difficulties with that, drop me a mail: afvelocouche@gmail.com
- sprint course is less than 1.5km since we have to accommodate some parking space and room for slowing down before crashing on the roundabout.
- 1km and 200m will be organised as 2 distinct races.
- the profile of the 3h circuit is here: https://www.openrunner.com/r/9465778
you can also follow the 3h circuit in googlestreetview
example: https://www.google.com/maps/@46.0940311,4.1949167,3a,75y,90.04h,70.01t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sjeD3DPqF1N8-JahRAROsag!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Thanks Marc, more for info of others. My bike, which Shawn rides, usually only has a front brake. Rear isn't much use as it skids easily, but I can put one on. The low racers often don't have a rear brake, but may have a disk brake. Was just making sure people didn't turn up and run into a problem.
I don't have a GPS that will use those files. Streetview would be a bit tedious. Would have to use the course map at the same time to know where to turn. The videos give some idea.

Hello all further to my payment queries I have found out that PayPal offers a service through Xoom for international payments - 99p to Europe using the specified IBAN number.

I have sent a payment today so hopefully will be back on to let you know it has arrived! Was worth a shot for the standard £25 Santander was going to charge.
