Looks like we won't have any changing rooms or a kitchen and only one toilet. I went to the track today to have a look at it to find that some local chavscum had decided to burn the main building out, destroying the changing rooms, kitchen, main hall and toilets. Track is fine though, and the disabled toilet (the only toilet remaining) which was in a seprate building.

Are we sure that the track will be available and that there are no safety/security issues??

Lee -

Your PM box is full so I'm posting here instead (apologies to anyone who isn't Lee Wakefield).

I have the latest version of the race sign-on/results system so I shall bring it with me on a suitable laptop. I'm happy to help with signing-in and doing the results if you're not familiar with it, and should be there well in time to start signing on at 10.00am.

We also have the plastic crate with most of the Stuff in, though possibly not all.

Just have to hope the place is still open.

I can't get an answer from the venue on the phone (perhaps not surprising in the circumstances...)

We really need to be sure that we can race as we're going to have a lot of upset people if they travel long distances to be turned away at the gate.

Have just spoken to the manager.

He has promised that the track is open and the toilet block and changing rooms will be available.  He won't promise hot showers although it is a possibility...

No you haven't got all of it because I've got some (banners, toilet tent, flags and the board for the clock, if I remember the contents of my garage correctly.  We'll be bring all the aforementioned.

Please can anyone offer some lift-assistance to Scunny? I'm heading from Swansea area and any lift in the general direction would be useful. I'm considering train-assistence and cycling as part of the journey/ordeal. From looking at timetables, trains going up the border along the Abergavenny; Hereford; Shrewsbury; Crewe; Stockport line (then connecting onward to Doncaster) appear to operate quite efficiently. Its the bits at either end of the journey that make for an extortionate ticket price and put eons onto the time.

I can also camp over somewhere on Saturday evening and Sunday evening for added flexibility...

What length of event is envisaged?

Something over half an hour (to make it worth while), but less than one hour which could be boring for all concerned.

To Lee (and others)

If needed I will be able to do the signing on and help with organising due to a trapped nerve in my neck which means that riding a trike on a velodrome is less than ideal therapy!

Thanks for the offers for help

I was considering 30 min races (see other thread), if a significant number want a diffrent length race though then I could change it. How about 40 mins + 2? Need enough time for 2 or 3 races.
