Hi Chris,

I would be happy to help with organising, I am hoping to arrive before 10am. (Happy to take on a role that is incompatible with racing by the way).

Looking forward to see you all! :)

Brilliant!

Thanks Antonin! Much appreciated.

The only roles that are incompatible with racing are:

1. Being ill/injured
2. Not having access to a bike you can ride (and/or a crash helmet)
3. Not being there

So you'll definitely be able to race as well!

Hey Antonin

That wasn't you racing the peloton in the TdF stage 4 was it? Lots of circumstantial evidence:

Sorry for not being able to make it! My rear suspension broke in Redhill and it took me ages to fix it with what I had, so I would not have made it before 11am, I went back directly to Oxford. I hope the race went well!

It's great to get velomobiles on screen, I wish I had participated in that :) Is the original footage online somewhere?

Many thanks to everybody for an excellent day. Brilliant to see the Lotus bikes, full size trikes, and juniors racing.

Sympathies to Antonin for the mechanical. I had a derailleur go into my spokes after changing down on an uphill hairpin. John kindly lent me his bike for the next race and that was so good I want one.

No worries Antonin. Hope you got back home OK? We though you might have been delayed by overly numb toes, but luckily it was just a mechanical mechanical rather than a biological one Smile

Thanks to everyone who turned up to Redbridge for a brilliant days racing. And thanks to all of the organisers (which was effectively everyone on this occasion as we were using the old school carbon based lap counting (ie. manual tallying system). Special thanks to Jonathan Woolrich, Shawn Ballantine and Slash for seamlessly taking on the stopwatchery, pairing up tally-counters with pen, paper & riders to watch, when I was rushing to jump back in Neil Hood's Evo K velomobile which he let me race on the day. Was great to see many of the old familiars as well as some of the new familiars (ie. the lotus bike peleton) and also a few new visitors who cam along to find out a bit more about HPVs and what we do (hopefully we'll see you again!).

Here are the provisional results for Redbridge

Any quibbles, please post here or message me before end of Friday.

I have a couple queries for starters:

1. I have a finish time, but no lap count written down for Shawn in the 10 min race (round-3 Race-1). I've put in a provisional 7 laps. Shawn can you/anyone confirm this s/isn't correct?

2. David, In the 10 min race your lap count shows you were substantially slower than in the other 2 races. Can you/anyone  confirm if this is/isn't correct.

3. Neil, In the 10 min race your lap count shows you were substantially slower than in the other 2 races. Can you/anyone  confirm if this is/isn't correct.

in round 2 race 2 I was riding John's Pelso that he kindly lent me. John's Garmin gave me an average mph of 21.4mph so I wondering if I did 12 laps? Tony and Andy were definitely ahead of me. I do not remember Tom overtaking but my memory is not reliable. The hard evidence for my lap count will be on John's Garmin as I saved the ride as soon as I crossed the finish line. Will be at WC2019 this week.

In Round 1 (fast), i think both Neil and I did 20 laps, but that does not change the classification, I was second and he was third. In Round 3(fast) I was second as well and did 8 laps. This is confirmed by the GPS

Round 2, Race 1: Johan finish ahead of me and Shawn. My laps count is correct as it match my Garmin data. Shawn finished on the same lap with me, but Johan should have an extra lap.

Round 3, Race 1. Thank you for awarding me the 3rd place. Unfortunately, the finishing order was as in previous rounds, with David, Jochen and Shawn ahead of me. My laps count is correct, so the other guys should have an extra lap. David did not managed to lap me, but he was closed. Jochen and Shawn were probably further behind.

I have checked the data on my Garmin for time that Brian was using my bike. He has done indeed 12 laps in Round 2.

Hi, I've checked my Garmin data and my results are correct - 16, 11 and 7 laps in the Race 2s.

I was lap counting for Jochen #66 and I had a hunch I'd missed one of his laps in Round 2 Race 1, which would fit with John's post about Jochen finishing ahead of him.  Sorry!

I've got onboard video footage from all the Race 2s.  Will edit some highlights and post a link here and on Facebook.
