Another tiny circuit. Just 1K. 2 serious curves and 4 slight ones. RIP Leicester National Velodrome.

  http://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/leicester+cycle+circuit/@52.6423478,-1.1768256,635m/data=!3m1!1e3" rel="nofollow - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/leicester+cycle+circuit/@52.6423478,-1.1768256,635m/data=!3m1!1e3

I did search to see if anyone else had posted for this event.

I didn't look any further than looking at the circuit. They have a facebook page. I asked how long the track was and they answered. https://www.facebook.com/Leicestercyclecircuit/?hc_ref=ARTT6eMfJJZEtBvPUMgPZA_IEQH7XXnTYKHSNos7L2wnOwX49GHjLqt9YPpVmbbH3XM&fref=nf

Best ask the question, with the other one about parking.

I'm sure there will be toilets. The track is bolted onto a college and community centre and there will be staff on site when we're there...

At Leicester we have the track booked from 11am - 3pm?

Can we have some volunteers to help organise.

Race sign-on should be greatly simplified. For those going to both Darley and Leicester, I will be able to sign on for both events at Darley Moor.....

Don't use the postcode on the http://https://www.facebook.com/Leicestercyclecircuit" rel="nofollow - Leicester Cycle Circuit Facebook page (LE6 3DN) in your satnav - that will take you to the front entrance of New College on Glenfield Road which is a long walk from the circuit. LE3 6RJ should get you to the New Parks Leisure Centre. The cycle circuit has its own car park opposite the Leisure Centre on the other side of St Oswald's Rd.

There is an access road (possibly barriered) to the circuit itself for drop off but no parking except a small bay near the start line for 2 or 3 vehicles. It's very similar to Salt Ayre (Lancaster) - big car park for the Leisure Centre, smaller car park for the circuit and a little bay near the track for equipment.

Can someone else please also volunteer to help John out??

The results from the timing system for today's races at Leicester are now available on the BHPC website:
http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events18/10leicester/index.html" rel="nofollow - www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events18/10leicester
The traditional results tables are going to take a little longer because of the big bunch finish in the 2nd slower race which is going to take some time for the Video Assistant Referee to sort out. At the moment he is about to nod off in front of Countryfile so it may well be tomorrow evening before we get anything useful out of him.

In the meantime please sit back and enjoy the timing system results.

One question though: Jonny Appleby Snr's tags suddenly vanished about 20 minutes into the 2nd race. Did he DNF or was a cloaking device activated?

Johnny snr DNF'd in the second race, taken out by a cramped leg....

Hi folks
thanks once again for an interesting weekend of racing not quite as hot as the worlds but the sun did shine at Darley Moor, not for long but thank heaven for small mercy's, the Leicester track was nice and swoopy once we got access to it,  a few more facilities close to the track would have been nice or the leisure centre open till 4pm, do they not know about men of a certain age, one must have facilities, checklist for next time one toilet tent and a portaloo and maybe send the staff at Leicester to charm school,  rant over !, not too many photo's of Darley as I had guests join me and all the racers were all in the main race together so here are some anyway copy any you want.
Cheers.

Thanks Andrew,

Not one to quibble but pleased to see I was only just behind Slash in the slow race 2! I knew I would wear him down after about 10 years.

I had a great day and thanks to all who organised or raced. Like Geoff, I am of a certain age and it was a long way to the first services on the M1!

Had a fun time :) The actual track was very nice indeed :) Real shame about the facilities, or rather lack of.

Don't be so modest Stuart - you were ahead of Slash until lap 13!

The http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events18/10leicester/leicester-18.html" rel="nofollow - final results for Leicester and the updated http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events18/tables18.html" rel="nofollow - Championship Tables are now up on the BHPC website.

Please be aware that the Championship Tables are incorrectly discounting the worst five resuts rather than the worst four, which is what it should be. This will be fixed shortly but in the meantime those keenly competing for podium places should make the necessary points adjustments manually.

The http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events18/tables18.html" rel="nofollow - Championship Tables for 2018 have been revised to correct an error which was spotted recently: the 'Worst 5' results were being discounted instead of the 'Worst 4' as it should have been.

Looked at another way, your best eight results (out of a possible 12) count towards the Championship in the 2018 season. Before the fix only the best seven results were being counted.

If you care about this stuff and/or are in close competition with someone else you may like to check the revised tables as some positions have changed.

My apologies for not spotting this earlier and my thanks to Mrs Timelord for doing the spotting and to Kevin Jenkins for supplying the fix.
