This is the place for discussion
about the 2nd round of the 2018 BHPC races on the 1 mile cycle circuit at the
UCLan Sports Arena, Preston
First and foremost we need volunteers to help organise, and pick race formats. So if any of you can help, please let me know. |

I'm happy to take on Organisating duties for this one. Format to be announced closer the time but it may well include a time-trial as the circuit is unidirectional. If so then volunteers for timing duties, as well as the usual flag-waving and shouting, would be much appreciated |

| As recumbent-friendly trains to Preston are doable, I'm tempted to make this my second foray, after not actually dying at the Derby velodrome last summer. Still frustratingly unfit, so would also be keeping out of the way at the back. |

Sounds good. Will welcome the company at the back. From the station you should be able to avoid most of the city centre madness to head out for the track on quieter roads and possibly cycle lanes. The current plan for Preston, providing we can find the staff for a TT, is:1 lap time-trial, anticlockwise (25%)The TT will start at 11.00am, promptish. Andrew |

Hi Folks can't make this weekend  , after a couple of large car bills just to get it up to par the money pit is empty so you will have to find someone else to bring up the rear, have a great weekends racing, Preston with sun thats a novelty on its own and get lots of pictures and no falling off.bye for now. A fun days racing in the sun;some heat acclimatision required. Thanks to the hard workers once again. Just reading Jeff's comments I realise my gentle slide off the track at 34mph was probably down to that one stray remark of his re crashing. Or the stray buzzard that Slash ejected from his cockpit at the appropriate moment to bring me down, James Bond style. Derek and Steve will understand that one. A morning in the camp field straightening brackets and reattaching parts will see it racing at Lancaster, albeit a little slower as my confidence in Continentals finest 18 tubular tyre is a little diminished. 40mm Marathon next time.  ------------- Bream no longer. Impressive. I almost look like I know what I'm doing in some of those... That was a fun. I didn't fall off. I got some ridiculous sunburn (2" bands on each wrist between my mitts and elbow pads). And I appear to have been faster than I reasonably expected to be. What's not to like? |

Many thanks to the race organisers Andrew and Heather + family and for a brilliant days racing. Also thanks to Miles for some stunning pictures. A big shout out for Watson Jnr II who not only raced a streamliner for the first time but also did really well. The next day when all the rest of us were skidding off the track (including me) he stayed upright in very windy and mossy corner conditions. Chappeau. |

Does anybody know how I might get in touch with Miles Peacock? I'd like to use one of his photos and the ones on the link have been viciously compressed. I think I've found him on Facebook but he obviously doesn't look at it often.
