I need the following trike

Essential:
- Able to travel in excess of 20mph
- significant built-in storage capacity (for camping)
- good condition
- standard parts so easy to maintain

Desirable:
- Foldable (for easy-shipping by air).

Max budget £300.

Please say where you are located in your response.

Hi Stephen,
Good luck with the search - Feel free to join our Facebook Group. Quite a few people use that one that aren't on here regularly.
Keep an eye on Ebay/Gumtree etc as trikes often come up for sale on there.

To be absolutely honest there isn't a lot around that will meet all of your criteria.
Most use fairly standard bicycle drivetrain parts so no problem there.
Any trike will exceed 20MPH in some circumstances but if you are looking to average 20+ then you need a fairly quick machine... To add significant storage capacity and travel at that pace you are looking at a velomobile, which won't fold of course...

But the biggest stumbling block is going to be £300.
The only machines that regularly come up for sale at that sort of price are the KMX trikes. None of them fold as far as I know, they are relatively heavy and not the quickest of machines.

Yes Stephen, Alan is well right £300 is going to be a struggle you be lucky to to get part of the frame.
iv`e been after one and struggled to get one that ticks all my boxes and i had near £1000 budget.
As Alan said even horrible KMX your looking £400 +.
Was conversing with Kevin at D-Tek but although hes a great guy and very helpful you will need quite a few more pennies for his bikes lol.
Sometimes towards the end of the summer you might pick up a reasonable one at a lower price
also check gumtree fair few on there sometimes and no bidding and asking price with room to negotiate with the seller unlike greedy Ebay.
But keep your eye out and good luck .
