Details for The Gravesend racing on the Sunday are:

we have the lower 2 circuits of the track (click to see pic) booked from 10-3 pm

Sign-on starts ~9:30am

Race format (split into Fast and Slow groups depending on numbers)
2 hrs
The track is booked for 5 hrs to accommodate both a fast and a slow 2hr race, (but if numbers allow all to run in one race it could be increased to 3 hrs, or do an all-in 2hr race followed by another shorter race format to get full value for money from the track)

The two race circuits can be used in a number of different combinations/directions, which can be decided on the day.

Can we please have some volunteers to help organise??

Also worth noting: If travelling to/from Gravesend via the Dartford/bridge/tunnel don't forget it operates by numberplate recognitions system. You can pay in advance or by midnight the day after you cross.

Details for car parking charges at Gravesend Cycle Park can be found here:

Here they are...…

Up to 3 hours: £1.20

Good choice to have a longer race for once.

Fortunately, the weather didn't arrive while the racing was going on. Looked a bit wetter on some parts of the M25 on the way home.

Results from the electronic timing system are now at: http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/media/events/events19/10gravesend/index.html

Unfortunately the generator conked out after about 54 minutes. While the laptop continued on internal battery power, the RFID reader stopped working. The generator was eventually re-started, but without the required manual intervention to re-connect to the tag reader, no further data was acquired until I returned to the system after the end of the race.

On that basis, I've adjusted the timing data we do have to be a 51 minute race (thereby capturing a final good read of everyone's tag).

Finish times were recorded by stopwatch, but we have a ~20 minute gap between the last good timing data and somebody realising there was a problem and starting counting laps manually at 1:15:00 into the race. In the absence of lap counts for everyone from GPS data, I think the best approach will be to treat this as a separate 45 minute race...

My GPS says I have got 54 laps in around 2:04:05 and I was in third position behind Steve and lee and ahead of Liam and Neil F. Splitting in two separate races is quite a disadvantage for me as I used my special engine mode in the last part of the race.

Slash definitely won and Lee was second.
Liam and Neil F were on the same lap as David but behind him - where he found that speed from at the end I have no idea!!
Neil Hood dropped out at about an hour and John Williams a little later.

Everybody else finished I believe.

Similarly, I was going much better in the second half of the race (though not to the point of changing my position - I was consistently behind John Lucian and Tim Parker, and ahead of Colin Rose, by some number of laps). My GPS track shows 45 laps.

(Whatever we do with the results, I reckon William Tulett deserves some sort of award for coming last in the most heroic way possible. Completing a 2 hour race on a KMX with about ten minutes of previous recumbent riding in his legs is certainly impressive.)
