This is the place for discussion about the 7th round of the 2018 BHPC races on the cycle circuit at Yarborough Leisure centre, in Lincoln:

We have the track booked from 11-3pm, so sign-on will start at 10am.

First and foremost we need volunteers to help organise. Please post on here and/or let me know if you are willing to help out and I will send you some info on what needs doing (its not as complicated/arduous as it looks)...

Brilliant!  SmileSmileSmile

We have a terrific trio of organisers for Yarborough:-

Shawn Ballantine
Neil Hood
Colin Rose

I'll email you all some reminder info of what's involved.
In the meantime, have a mull over what race formats you'd like to run....

Hello All,   lets talk Race Formats!  Smile

Does anyone have a suggested race format that would work well here?

Before any masochists suggest a 24 hour race, keep in mind we only have the venue from 11am to 3pm.

So we could for example do two 40minute races in either direction:

11am    40mins + 1 lap    1st Slower Race       Clockwise

12pm    40mins + 1 lap    1st Fast Race          Clockwise

1pm     40mins + 1 lap    2nd Slower Race         Anticlockwise

2pm     40mins + 1 lap    2nd Fast Race             Anticlockwise

This timing lends itself to a light lunch munch between races but maximises riding time.

Another option could be to go for a 1 hour race and a 15 minute race - good prep for the Worlds!

11am         1hour + 1 lap     1st Slower Race        Clockwise

12:30pm    1hour + 1 lap     1st Fast Race            Clockwise

2pm          15mins + 1 lap    2nd Slower Race      Anticlockwise

2:30pm     15mins + 1 lap    2nd Fast Race          Anticlockwise

I am not familiar with this track, so a couple of questions to anyone who is:

Does anyone know if this track is wide enough to comfortably accomodate everyone in the same race or is it one of those narrow squiggly circuits where lots of overtaking and being overtaken can feel somewhat precarious?

Is this track good in both directions?

Does it have more than one circuit configuration (cut throughs etc)?
Ride on!

As the track is unknown to us we will make a final decision on the day of the race format.

Provisionally we are thinking:

11am       1hour 20min slow

1pm        1hour 20min fast
Ride on!

If it's the strip around the football pitch and running track it looks about 10' wide on google street view. I can't find any photos of anyone cycling on it though, or at the leisure centre at all so it's hard to tell if I have the right location.
