No chance of closing roads. Slight chance of getting the former Manston airport for 200m. No water event proposed, but coincides with HP aircraft event which will probably be at Lasham. BHPC voted against proposed WHPSC rule change.

I know it's probably academic, because gNick told me that it is very difficult to get the council to close a road even only for an hour or two, but in case you can, there seems to be a nice stretch for a 200 m speed event with 500 m run-up just up the deal road, which can be detoured by motorists and also allows racers to go back t the start via Worth:

This conforms very nicely to the new WHPVA "pure human power" rule if it is accepted. This shows that in spite of the short run-up quite attractive speeds (for the spectatirs) up to 90 km/h are achievable, a simulation of an Elviestretto with a 1000 W rider:

It may be too far away from Deal, but the Dungeness estate has lots of straight dead flat roads and the main one has just been resurfaced with tarmac. It recently came up for sale and I don't know who owns it now after I decided not put an offer in after some discussion with my son.

Will we be getting some leaflets to distribute? There are a number of people locally who are interested.

Hi Alan. Just looked at the web site and it's great, but for the uninitiated I think it looks like it might cost £50 to go and watch. Maybe it should make it clear you can watch for free. It would save me having to explain every time I give out the web address if that could be added.

All the best.

Hi Roy - Fair comment.
Hopefully Marc (he's looking after the web site) will see this but I'll copy it to the WC2018 organisers bit of the forum as well... There is no charge for spectators unless they want to camp.
