    Posted: 11 September 2016 at 11:56pm
Greetings racey type people...

Your next chance to throw yourself and machine with wanton abandon into the scenery is the hairpin at Curborough on the 25th September, just two weeks away...

The day before there will be the final round of the British Pedal Car Championship and at least a couple of teams are still looking for drivers so it's a great opportunity for anyone who wants to give it a go...

There will be a barbeque on the Saturday night and FREE camping for anyone who wants to avoid driving up (or down if you're a norverner) on Sunday morning...

On the Sunday morning gates will be open by 9am and sign-on will start by 10am at the latest.

Sign-on will CLOSE AT 11am...

Races will be on the full circuit including the infamous hairpin (as long as there are no additional bicycle-consuming sink-holes when I have a look at it on Saturday)

Race 1 - 30 minutes clockwise for less speedy riders

Race 2 - 30 minutes clockwise for nutters faster riders

Race 3 - 30 minutes anti-clockwise slow

Race 4 - 30 minutes anti-clockwise fast.

Points to be equally distributed between clockwise and anti-clockwise races.

Sadly, my glamorous assistant Barney will not be with us this year, meaning a) I'll need the megaphone and b) any help will be very much appreciated.

There is free camping on site at Curborough on Saturday night but not Sunday unfortunately.
Some of us will be there on Friday setting up for the pedal car race so camping on Friday night is possible if you give us a shout in advance...

Great! Smile  Saturday eve is earliest we can make; how late is it okay to roll up to the track? Is it okay to pitch up with a campervan?
Ride on!

The pedal car race is due to end at 8pm and we have presentations and a barbeque after that so the gates will be open until at least 9pm... Let me know if you need to arrive later and I will be able to open the gates.

Camper van is fine!
Facilities on site are basic (toilets but no showers).

Please note the following warning about access to Curborough from the A38 northbound:

There is NO access from the A38 on the NORTHBOUND carriageway to Fradley Park and Curborough.

PLEASE FOLLOW DIVERSION SIGNS, which will take you up to the next Junction (Alrewas) where you will be re directed to return on the Southbound Carriageway where there is access.
