A couple of weeks before things get going but I'll just leave this here in case anyone gets lonely. Ushual rules apply i.e.
There's probably some inconsequential guff on Facebook too but ICBA to look for it.

Am I right that a certain UK University down sarth has produced their HPV with a massive frontal area *again*?
The rider should beg a go in the DF. Even used as a hand trike the DF is going to be much faster than what they have surely. One of my mates always used to say never make the same mistake once! Good luck to the Liverpool boys and girls. |

Plymouth Uni's machine is basically the same shape as last year's; Sarah Piercy ran 23.5 mph this morning over the short course in gusty crosswinds. Speeds well down from last year with my man Jan-Marcel quickest of all with a fairly modest 61.65 mph - last year Todd Reichert did 72 in qualifying. Windy again Monday pm - only seven of the twelve scheduled starters actually ran. Todd Reichert fastest at 76.37 mph. No wrecks and nobody drownded, in fact nothing to laugh at at all.

Thanks for the update photos, and for the diary which I assume updates itself... http://automatic-diary.blogspot.co.uk/
Wish the Liverpool lot good luck - hopefully it was our recommendation of Woodford aerodrome to practice on which got them in good shape :) Edited by russellbridge - 13 September 2016 at 8:17am |

Tuesday morning runs cancelled. It is debatable which is louder - the trucks running over the rumble strips on the down-to-one-lane interstate fifty yards from my window or the rain lashing against it.
Bah!

More rain overnight but it had dried out enough to run this morning. Yasmin Tredell of the Liverpooligans was first off but ran off the road at low speed at launch and b0rked the camera housing. They couldn't fix it in time for her to have another run but the PSOs got ARION2 fixed for Ken Buckley to do a 71.23 over the long course later in the morning. Sarah Piercy in Reynold, the Plymouth Uni handcycle, did 22.66 mph with the 2.5 mile start. She reckons it's too long so we're looking at the possibility of starting her from or near Badger Ranch Road about 600-1000 metres from timing.
Some bloke called "Reichert" did 81 mph over the long course. Yawn. For some reason Jun hasn't got the results up yet. Hunger, probably. When he does they'll be at or near https://jnyyz.wordpress.com/category/hpv/. We both sneaked out of a meeting just now so hopefully not long.
