A  quick update for Darley Moor

Anne & Jon Coulson have also  kindly volunteered to help us Moorganise this one (many thanks), so Russell and Ian agreed to defer their chance for another day.

the point split for Sunday will be 65% for the 48 min race and 35% for the time trial.

weather currently looks half favourable
knee warmers for many (at 10-12 celcius), but only 7mph winds.

mind you Darley Moor has its own self irregulating  micro-climate, so anything could change in the next 58 hours.......

I will be taking a van to Darley Moor from Liss and will have some spare space. So if anyone is in need of transport please let me know.

Regards

Hope all is going well for anyone that made it there!! I got as far as Junction 21 of the M1 where the road was closed and it was utter chaos with everybody getting the hump...
Sat Nav didn't have a clue and I didn't have a map!

The Wasp will have to wait a bit longer for its debut... Cry

That's a pity Alan,
I was looking forward to seeing the Wasp.

A good day with great weather, if a little breezy.
Thanks to the organisers etc, it all went as smoothly as ever.

Great to see the Liverpool University peeps, however only one streamliner was present. Slash et al, you were missed. At least it meant I stood a chance of victory.

My bike ground to a halt. If any of you have a bike that raced at Preston and you haven't looked at it since then I suggest you clean it immediately. That grit eats bikes - it seems to be fine enough to get through seals - I had problems with Speed Drive and front brake drag today and John Lucian had a front hub completely seize (not today).

What a day at Darley, sunshine almost all day and no rain, new bikes new faces and as always a great organizing team thanks to them. nice to meet some new people and maybe some new members, big shout out to the Liverpool uni crew who did themselves proud, and also Russell on his new moving bottom bracket creation racing it like a pro, and Duncan Bullock beautifull black and yellow home built low racer now with a mono front fork, big thank you to the Elmsmere Port guys for giving me a lift with all my gear at the end, much appreciated, and also to Barney and joe for making me work so hard, must learn to stay behind and let them do the work, good day all round, here are a few photo's of the day copy any you want or give me a shout  http://www.flickr.com/photos/recumbents/.
