we have managed to prepare some information. Sorry for the delay

The racing programme for the coming World Human powered Vehicle Championships / Cycle Vision has been announced. And it looks great we think. There is even a race which was not on the programme for 6 years. The most popular races as every year will be the 1 hour time trial. This is considered "the race for the kings". But some racers demanded to get the legendary 6 hour race of Cycle Vision again. Can this be considered the race for emperors? Or is it even bigger than that?

This race schedule will all be held at one location, the track "Sportpark Sloten, Sloterweg 1045, Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 2nd and 3rd of July

Saturday morning
Outside track, one hour time trail, no slipstreaming

Saturday afternoon
Inside track/velodrome: 200 metres flying start, we count the fastest of 5 laps that you can ride, leave the track in the 6th round.

Sunday
Outside track 08:30: 1 round, standing start. 1 rider every 30 seconds

Outside track 10:00-16:00 uur: combined 3 hour and 6 hour race

The organisation committe thinks adding the 6 hour race is a good idea for this event. That race has not been programmed by the committee for 6 years now. And this sort of race is often also not programmed by other eventes. Due to tight schedules it is often not possible. But according to a number of race enthousiasts it is the ultimate challenge. Legendary even....
By adding the event it is the ultimate chance to give this event an extra special bonus element. The organisation also considered several open road alternatives. Even to ride part of the race schedule on the Lelystad RDW oval again. But all these choices had their practical limitations. "

For the coming period we will prepare the site and the form to enter the event. Of course we will offer shared meals. More information will follow soon.

I am taking the ferry from Harwich 30-Jun-16 dep 09:00 arr 17:15. Stopping over in the Hook and then am going to cycle in the morning from Hook of Holland to Sloten Sportspark 1-Jul. If anyone is also going that way by cycle I am happy to meet the morning ferry (at the Hook 1-Jul). Then I plan to take the Lf1b (northbound) Nordsee route. I am traveling back on 4-Jul.

Steve Slade got the world championship this year. He won a series of races and most impressive was winning the 3 hour race followed immediately by riding another three hours to win the 6 hour race. From memory his average speed was 56 km/h.
The race organisers were following Dutch rules for helmets and they were only required for the velodrome.
