Well, you'll all just have to make sure you are all members, then you can read all about the new KITT (Kit Industries Timing Telemetry) 2010 in the next magazine !

Now, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would have thought it helpful if the actual date(s) of the race appeared on the home page! I can't see it anywhere. (or am I blind?)
I doubt that I'll be taking part but I may have a spare hour or two to come along and cheer heartily (if only I knew the date to plan it)

very much tongue in cheek mode!!

Hi Martin, how's things? No, I can't see a date either, but there is a countdown to the start, which currently reads 122 days and 3 hours. I guess the actual date is left as an exercise in arithmetic, and quite right too - they don't want hoards of the innumerate turning up Wink

To save you lazy sods having to work it out for yourselves, I've calculated that it is the weekend of the 26th/27th June. (not really, I actually just looked here: http://www.pedalcars.info/events/calendar.asp)

BTW, if you are riding there, you'll be virtually going past our door. If it's the Saturday, we could probably escort you in - we often ride out that way.

Hi Geoff,
I'm good thanks. Looks like I might pop into see them on Saturday on my way up to Scunthorpe for the BHPC race on the Sunday. I joined BHPC a couple of weeks ago and received a welcome letter from the lovely membership secretary, so I'm going to attempt to do as many races as possible (including Jersey if I can get a weekend pass and an entry)
Let me know when you are next out on a Sunday ride as I'd like to come along.
Martin

This is a good point and the sort of feedback a brand new website needs because in the excitement of getting it up and running, the fundamentals can get overlooked!

Thanks, I will pass it on to the web team.

Jes, I guess in a sport that has so many kids involved, a generation that seems to always be glued to a laptop or web-enabled phone, something like live timing must be a lot of fun and a good educational tool. Do you see many of the kids that race pedal cars go onto study engineering etc. as a result? It's something the BHPC ought to get more involved with (as long as I'm not the one who has to deal with the little blighters face-to-face Smile), it seems to work very well in Australia, for instance.

I guess you realise that Shenington is in the heart of Motorsport Country - would it be worth looking at tie-ins with people like Oxford Brookes University, who run motorsport and envionmental engineering courses?

Incidentally, Martin has many years of service to Motorsport, maybe you could give the kids the benefit of your experience while you are there Martin?!

Martin, good to hear you are a member now and plan to do most the races. You missed a good ride last Sunday - quite hilly route, but sunshine and a stop-off at the Falkland Arms for a swift couple.

I didn't know we were stopping at the pub mind - we were steamin' down the hill through Great Tew when The Twed suddenly indicated right - I had to slow down very quickly from 35mph on an extremely greasy road!

Probably be out this Sunday - I'll keep you in the loop.

Yes, I already have some irons in the fire but would be willing to hook up with anyone who could further the cause.

What the BPCC has in abundance is enthusiastic teenagers and it is striking that grass roots engineering is no longer taught in many schools.
