This is the place for discussion about the 6th round of the 2018 BHPC races on the 400 metre outdoor velodrome at Quibell Park Stadium, in Scunthorpe:  

 

Alice and I are race organising for this one (primarily because I really want to do a 1hr race to compare with last year at the same venue).


IMPORTANT: we have the velodrome booked from 12-5pm. 

So sign-on will start at high noon.

 

Race format will be as follows:

Round-1:

1 hr +1 lap Race (SLOW)

1 hr +1 lap Race (FAST)

 

Round-2:

1 lap sprint (flying start)

 

Round-3:

Either a Devil or 15min + 1 lap (FAST & SLOW) races

 

The % points split will be equal across the three events

Is sign-on from 12 or from 11am to allow racing to start at 12 noon?

They are opening the velodrome up just for us on the day, don't know if it will be open at 11am.
 
Alice and I are intending to get there early, so will aim to get registration set up for 11:30...

I know it's a bit late but for those who are doing both Scunthorpe and Yarbrough, Free accommodation is available in Grimsby along with a fish&chips + pub evening. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Yes, Saturday night (and Friday if you want it). We have an empty house at the moment which you can use, it does have most furniture in it though you will need bedding etc.

A bit of a strange one but I'll be at Scunthorpe with two upright tandems each of which will be crewed by a sighted pilot and a visually impaired stoker.  

We intend to race and put in some gusto but I know between the races the VI's will be interested to "see" what else it is they are racing against , so if a strange person asks if they can have a feel of your bike they've not got a fetish it's just that touch may be the only way they can visualise your machines.

I know you're all a very accommodating bunch and the world's friendliest cycle club so I'm sure you won't be offended when somebody asks if they can have a feel.

PS. I'm only racing upright tomorrow for a special occasion don't worry I'm still laidback at heart.

Tandems are quite a rarity in BHPC races.
