This year the Fowlmead weekend is a joint venture between BHPC and the Tricycle Association. As such there will be a few more events than usual, including some designed to be tricycle-friendly (if possibly less velomobile-friendly).

The provisional programme is currently:

Saturday am:
15-min criterium (upper circuit, anti-c/wise)
5-lap time-trial (lower circuit, c/wise)

Saturday pm:
45 mins slow (full circuit, anti-c/wise)
45 mins fast (full circuit, anti-c/wise)
team relay, seeded by TT (circuit TBA)

Sunday am:
30 mins slow (upper circuit + reverse link*, c/wise)
30 mins fast (upper circuit + reverse link*, c/wise)

Sunday pm:
2 hours (full circuit, c/wise)

* 'reverse link' means we use the 'wrong' cut-through link to the start/finish straight, thereby introducing two sharp acute bends.

The time-trial and team relay will not count for BHPC Championship points. The circuit has been booked until 6:00pm on Saturday to allow the team relay to take place.

Please note that there will be no overnight camping at the Country Park this year. If you are planning to camp for Fowlmead then please make alternative arrangements as soon as possible.

Some limited camping is available at Cottington Lakes (01304 371898) next to the Country Park and their is a bigger site with more facilities at Kingsdown Camping Centre just south of Deal. Several other bookable sites are also available within 15 miles of Fowlmead.

Please allow plenty of time for your journey to Kent!
Anybody down that way got any tips for local diversions to avoid the "Operation Stack" issues?

Stack is on the M20 isn't it?

You don't need to use it, use M2 then A roads

Just read that is what everybody is doing so maybe not the best idea, we need a local to help us LOL

The programme for the weekend is confirmed as:

Saturday ('Fowlmead 1'):
Round 1: 15-min race (upper circuit, anti-c/wise) - 25% points
Round 2: 5-lap time-trial (lower circuit, c/wise) - 0% points
Round 3: 45 mins race (full circuit, anti-c/wise) - 75% points
Round 4: team relay, seeded by TT (circuit TBA) - 0% points

Sunday ('Fowlmead 2'):
Round 1: 30 mins race (upper circuit + reverse link*, c/wise) - 20% points
Round 2: 2 hours (full circuit, c/wise) - 80% points

*'reverse link' means using the 'wrong' cut-through to the main circuit, creating two tight hairpin bends.

Each Round may be split into two or more races depending on the field size and the circuit.

The weekend is a joint enterprise with the Tricycle Association. The team relay on Saturday is being organised by the TA, with teams chosen according to the results of the time trial in the morning. Both the TT and the relay are non-points events for the BHPC Championship.

All sounds good! I'm probably just going to be racing on Saturday and joining my Son and his Mate fishing on the Sunday...

We'll be a the camp site/fishing lakes on Friday... Camping still available for anyone that hasn't already booked but best to ring them before you go rather than just turning up.... 01304 371898

Thanks
